Unit 5: 1-4

1.a. The Glorious Revolution or the bloodless revolution was pretty much about one main person, Jame II and his actions and beliefs. this one man causes this whole revolution. well' as the story goes , James  was extremist  of the Catholic religion. He put  a hold on almost anything that questioned the Catholic believes. He had took every Protestant out of parliament and replaced them with Catholic officials. As you can tell, he was regressing the kingdom singlehandedly. And When the people found out that King James II's wife had gave birth to a heir, The people did like it. So , they had the William Of Orange , his nephew and son-in-law, had been put in place to replace James. And when the people had revolted , James had ran to France , thinking the people were going to harm his son.

b. This event is so important because this revolution had so many different ways of dealing with something then many revolution of this age. One of the things that makes this revolution different from other revolution , is that , they didn't kill anyone. This revolution was the only one in this time period that didn't kill someone to get them out of power. another thing about this revolution was that this was the last time the Catholic church had any control over England at all!

2. The definition of satire is to be ironic or to have irony or sarcasm. To me satire makes  living more of a life instead of existing  . This is life little joke on us. There are so many things that have satire , from movie  to TV , to everyday life.  Like the other day me and some friends went out to catch bumblebees  for entomology class. And i was the only one who was bold enough to go near the hive to catch one , but the whole time my friend, Irving, was saying i was going to get stung and mocking me , and acting like he was me, but when i went to get a bee , Irving ended up getting stung .

3. "The Modest Proposal" was  a satire in a almost cruel way, but a satire all the same. Jonathan Swift was talking about how by eating 1 year infant, its good for the economy, and country in general. He mostly talks about all the reason why its a good idea. For example: it would give woman more job, it  would also  help with the overcrowded streets of beggar. one that is really twisted that he said it would help the hungry people of the country and also that it would make sure that the husbands would beat on their wives for the fact of having a miscarriages. So Jonathan was trying to compare the cruelty that the English had did to the Irish, and justifying by saying it was for the country.

4. The Diary From Samuel Pepys was really complicated and difficult to read. i had to search almost every other word, but i made it through it. Samuel was mostly talking about how many people family had died, And how town were infected within weeks. onee of thing that sticks in my mind , is that a whole family was killed by the virus , but one little infant was still alive from this whole family. this bitcher and his wife , who had lost their infant from the plague , had found the infant, and decided to take in this lucky little baby. To relize  some many family had died in the street and so many were dying , that they had just starting burying them in groups.
